Materials: Slipped and stained clay ritual chalice for coffee and other quotidian potions, tea dust tenmoku liner and drips. Salt-fired at Medalta in November 2022. (Food safe, dishwasher and microwave-safe too.)

About the artist:

Brit Bachmann is a ceramic artist and cultural worker. She maintains a sculptural, visual and sound art practice working predominantly with the alchemy of clay and atmospheric firing methods. Brit has completed residencies at Medalta in Medicine Hat, AB; Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby, BC; and Shakespeare and Company in Paris, FR. Brit is a co-founder of the art writing magazine, ReIssue.pub, and was until recently the Director of UNIT/PITT Society for Art and Critical Awareness (2019-2022). She is the Ceramic Arts Programmer for the City of Burnaby at the Shadbolt Centre.
