Colleen Heslin lives and works on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia.  Known for her innovative, textile-based methods, Heslin’s work considers histories of art and craft along with social aspects of gender and labor, working with crossovers within fiber, painting and sculpture. Heslin’s work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Musee d’art Contemporain de Montreal. Heslin has an MFA from Concordia University, she was the 2013 recipient of the RBC Canadian Painting Completion, and is represented by Monte Clark Gallery.
