Morgan Melenka

Morgan Melenka is a visual artist based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary). She engages with sculpture and printmaking as she misuses architectural forms and materials to engage with history and place. She holds an MFA from NSCAD University (2019) and a BFA from University of Alberta (2014). Her 2022 exhibitions include Nonsuch at SNAP Gallery in Edmonton and the curatorial project Equivalence of Alloyed Gold with M. Gnansihamany at Critical Distance for Curation in Toronto. Her 2023 projects include A provisional vista at the Esker Foundation’s Project Space and pieces in The Mall, a group show at the Mitchell Art Gallery at MacEwan University exploring West Edmonton Mall. She teaches sessionally at AU Arts and has taught at NSCAD University, University of Alberta and MacEwan University. To expand her understanding of fabricated spatial experiences she also paints sets for film, television and stage.
