Shannon Garden-Smith (she/her) is an uninvited settler of Scottish, Irish, and British heritage and an artist and writer based in Tkaronto/Toronto, Canada. Garden-Smith completed a BA at the University of Toronto (2012) and MFA at the University of Guelph (2017). Working in sculpture, installation and expanded photo practice, her work examines labour, identity, and power in human-built architectures, seeking to intervene into capitalist, productivist modes of telling time and modes of relation. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and received numerous grants and awards. Her work is permanently installed at Unity Health (Toronto).
